In Bradney (p217) the translation of Penrhôs is the head of the moor land and relates to the flat lands alongside the Afon Llwyd. Where it is called Penrhôs Fwrdios, it is suggested that as “Bwrdios” is Welsh for Bordeaux this is a corruption of that and signifies the hospitality of the place. Standing on …
